Olde Main Dinkey Wheat Ale

What do you do in Des Moines International Airport when you have to check in two hours before your flight and it only takes 10 minutes to get your boarding pass and make it through security? You hit the Capital City Brew Pub, serving a wide assortment of local microbrews. Err, except they were out of a few. And they really only have six microbrews on tap. I thought that the beers would be extremely overpriced, due to the fact that they’ve got you trapped in an airport, but their 20 oz. beers were only $6.75.
I ended up trying The Olde Main Dinkey Wheat Ale. Olde Main is located in the downtown area of Ames, home of Don’s alma mater, Iowa State University. It’s a shame we’ve never been there, I enjoyed my beer to the best of my recollection. (not that I was drunk, but that was two weeks ago). Here’s what my notes say: smooth, cloudy-opaque, nice citrus, sweet. I just remember it was good, and 20 oz got me a nice buzz going before my flight. Good thing I knew to stop at one so I didn’t need that barf bag.
